About Us

The Southern Arizona Golf Association (SAGA)  •  Competitive Golf Done Right!

SAGA was created to offer a different perspective on tournament golf and bring some of our experiences to the local golf scene.  The SAGA founders have all competed in professional tournaments as well as local and national amateur golf tournaments. We encourage having a great time with your buddies while still competing in different formats. In the end, we are just a group of individuals that wanted to bring something different.

SAGA Tournament Policies

SAGA embraces all levels of competition and encourages fun and the growth of competitive golf. With that goal
in mind, SAGA will conduct events to accommodate golfers of all skill levels.

- Tournaments: Players will have multiple tee options to compete from during the majority of our events.

The multiple sets of tees is designed to optimize fun for all participants and maintain a competitive environment.

The rules of golf as governed by the USGA will apply for all SAGA events. The local rules of a host course
take precedence if in conflict. Flights will be determined after registration for a given event is closed.
The Tournament Committee's goal create events for equitable competition.
Competition or Tournament indexes may be used for events at the discretion of the Committee.

The Tournament Committee will compare an individual’s daily

USGA index and the Competition index and may use the lower of the two.

Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
